Abstract

We report the preparation of transition metal-containing ZSM-5 catalysts, which were active and selective for cyclohexane oxidation. Manganese ions were abundant and available for preparing Mn-containing ZSM-5 (Mn-ZSM-5) with an MFI structure. The catalytic properties of Mn-ZSM-5 for the mild oxidation of cyclohexane with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in the liquid phase were investigated. With different amounts of Mn4+ ions incorporated, the catalytic results varied with conversions of 21.21%, 20.72%, 30.66% and 19.53%, and selectivities to cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol (KA oil, SKA, mol%) of 96.26%, 94.11%, 97.41% and 97.27%. In summary, the prepared Mn-ZSM-5 catalyst is an effective catalyst for cyclohexane oxidation with H2O2 as an oxidant under mild conditions.
