Abstract

This paper investigates the wind characteristics and wind pressure distribution over the roof of Water Cube based on the field monitoring. The results indicate that the most frequency winds come from Northerly direction during February; the fluctuating of wind is very strong. All the mean pressure coefficients over the roof of Water Cube are negative, however, the pressure distribution is moderate, the pressure does not reach the maximum negative value in the windward edge, and in the leeward zone the pressure does not decrease. In addition, the spatial correlation of wind pressure is analysed based on the measured pressure of 30 measurement points. The results show that the correlations of different measured points are very weak.
