Width of pavement in the city

To satisfy the need of walking traffic, the width of pavement was studied. Through observing and analyzing the walking features of pedestrians, the reasonable walking clear width for the needs of pedestrians was obtained. through the analysis of the walking features of converse pedestrians, the relationship between the pavement capacity and converse pedestrians was obtained as well. According to the synthetical analysis of the walking clear width, the influence of converse pedestrian flow, the width of functional facilities and the influence of bus stops, the pavement width was gained. The calculational process was provided as well. By a survey of Xuanqing street from Pinggong street to Huanghe road, the process of setting pavement width was offered. To get a reasonable width of pavement which can meet the pedestrians' walking need is beneficial to build a harmonious traffic circumstance.
