Abstract
In order to improve the wear resistance of turbine blade tip, a high quality coating was prepared on Ni-based alloy substrate by laser cladding using CO2 laser with Co-based alloy powder as raw material. Dry sliding friction behaviors of Ni-base alloy and the laser clad Cobased alloy coating were examined by pin-on-disc wear tester. The experimental results indicate that the average friction coefficient of Ni-base alloy is 0.48, while that of Co-based alloy coating is 0.30. The average wear loss of the coating is less than that of Ni-base alloy, which indicates a good wear resistance.
