Abstract

In this paper, according to the nonuniform and non-smooth characteristics of clutter, we apply the information geometry method to the field of target detection in weather clutter background. We carry out the simulation modeling of weather clutter power and amplitude model, derive the Riemann mean and Riemann distance of the matrix manifold applicable to the Rayleigh clutter covariance matrices using the matrix constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection method, and use the simulation data for verification. Simulation results show that compared with the traditional CF AR detection method, the information geometry-based detection method can effectively improve the detection probability with the same false alarm probability.
