Abstract

Based on the principle of the Wavelet transform, this paper, for the first time, introduces the Wavelet transform theory into the synthesis of texture images and proposes an efficient multi-resolution synthesis method. The simulations by computer are carried out. Two natural texture images are generated from the multi-resolution synthesis model and the effect of the methods is presented by examples. The experimental results indicate that with the method in this paper, not only the microtextures or macrotextures can be modeled and synthesized, but also both together, and the synthesized texture images have visual and analytical characteristics similar to those of the natural texture images.
