Abstract
This paper demonstrates a high-order mode substrate-integrated cavity (SIC) excited high-gain antenna array operating at 94 GHz. With this way, every element achieves uniform amplitude and balanced phase, thereby enhancing the antenna's efficiency as well as gain. Additionally, an extra SIW cavity is stacked on each element, further enhancing the gain. To validate, a 2 × 2 array is designed, fabricated, and measured using standard PCB technology. The array presents high gain and high aperture efficiency and a measured -10 dB impedance bandwidth spanning 91-97 GHz.
