Abstract

Viscous pressure forming (VPF) is one kind of sheet flexible-die forming processes and its intrinsic characteristic is the coupled deformation process of sheet metal and viscous medium. In our paper, first, the experimental results of creep-recovery tests are analyzed to determine the material model of viscous medium used in VPF and to identify the material parameters, and then the model is utilized to describe the deformation behavior of viscous medium. The total strain is divided into three components, viz. elastic strain, viscoelastic strain and viscoplastic strain, and the relationship between strain and stress is determined by fitting experimental curves. Finally, a visco-elastoplastic constitute model of viscous medium is built up, which provides the fundament for the numerical simulation of VPF.
