Abstract

As one of the key components of the smart meter, the fault caused by the low ability to resist short current of the magnetic latching relay has been highly valued recently. In this paper, the force of the reed group is analyzed with the magnetic latching relay used in a certain type of smart meter, the force on the reed group is classified. Then, the FEM simulation software is used to model the electromagnetic system and the contact spring system. On this basis, by studying the calculation formula of Holm force and Lorenz force, the method of reducing Holm force and improving Lorenz force is given. At the same time, the influence of the key parameter changes of the electromagnetic system and the spring system on the electromotive force is studied by the virtual prototype model. Finally, combined with the above work, a set of key parameter size groups with better short-circuit current ability are proposed, which can be used as a reference for the further improvement of the system optimization design for the resistance to short current of the magnetic maintenance relay.
