Abstract
Vibrations of an axially transporting beam are investigated. The boundary conditions considered may be assumed to be on simple supports with torsional springs at both ends, which is an appropriate assumption to the real constraints. The first two natural frequencies and the relevant modal functions are obtained numerically and the contributions of the transporting velocity and the torsional spring coefficient are discussed.
