Abstract

A novel variable tap-length least mean square (LMS) algorithm with variable tap-length adaptation step size is given. The difference of squared output error and squared segmented estimation error is served as the measurement criterion to adjust tap-length adaptation step size and a sigmoid function is employed to limit the range of step size. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve fast convergence speed and meanwhile retain small fluctuation.
