Abstract

The emergence of Ultra-Reliable and Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) in the 5th Generation (5G) mobile communications is critical for supporting mission-critical applications such as industry automation, intelligent transportation, and telemedicine. These applications impose stringent requirements on latency and reliability of communication systems. In this chapter, we overview the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of next generation URLLC, summarize the outline of this book, and briefly discuss future directions in artificial intelligence for URLLC.
