Unitary transformation DOA algorithm based on Toeplitz matrix

Abstract

To improve estimation performance and decrease calculation capacity of TOEP-MUSIC algorithm, a DOA estimation algorithm based on Toeplitz matrix unitary transformation (UHT-MUSIC) is proposed. In UHT-MUSIC algorithm, Toeplitz covariance matrix is constructed and transformed into Hermition matrix with remaining the estimation performance unchanged, and then changed into a real matrix by unitary transformation. DOA estimation is operated by MUSIC algorithm based on the real covariance matrix, so that the calculation capacity of matrix eigenvalue decomposition and peak search is reduced to 1/4 of the TOEP-MUSIC algorithm. The estimation performance is improved. Simulation results prove that the algorithm is effective.
