Abstract
Based on the unified theory, the uniaxial compression strength design formula of hollow polygonal concrete-filled steel tube (PCFST) members is obtained and the bending strength formula of hollow polygonal concrete-filled steel tube (PCFST) members is improved in this paper. Compared with lots of test and FE analysis results, the correctness of the formulas are proved. The achievements have been partly adopted in the newly modified national code ″Technical Specification of Hollow Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Structures″ CECS254:2009.
