Ultra-low limit-of-detection label-free biosensing utilizing mode splitting in subwavelength grating metamaterial microring resonators

Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrate an on-chip biosensor for streptavidin detection with a limit-of-detection as low as 0.01 pg/mL (∼0.167 fM) by leveraging the mode splitting in subwavelength grating metamaterial microring resonators.
