Abstract
A product form design method named UFF is proposed. This method combines User Process (U), Function Analysis (F) and Fuzzy Logic (F) method to get an approach of product development. UFF method applies User Process to make the design problems clear as the first step. Then it applies the orthodox Functional ideology to transform the product function system into creationary design with technology and art balance. As the form design criterion is fuzzy, fuzzy logic can help to choose a best design. Well-planned design research can help to find the right direction and enhance the chances of success for a product development. UFF method has been applied to a measuring equipment form design.
