Abstract

Searching for highly efficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts has recently attracted tremendous research interest. In this issue of Joule, Hu and coworkers have reported novel synergistic hybrid catalysts, composed of nanoscale heterostructures of layered MoS2 and layered double hydroxides (LDHs), that can dramatically enhance the HER catalysis process in alkaline solutions.
