Abstract

Based on the shared-aperture antenna structure, the high-band antenna is designed as a dual-band base station antenna unit, which operates at 3.3-3.6GHz (HB1) and 4.8-5GHz (HB2), respectively. The low-band electromagnetic transparent antenna and AMC are used as a double-layer decoupling surface, in which the low-band antenna transmits in HB1 and partially reflects in HB2, while the AMC decoupling surface partially reflects in HB1 and transmits in HB2. While reducing the height of the antenna profile, the co-band mutual coupling of dual-band operating high-band antennas and the off-band cross-coupling between low-band and high-band antennas are improved. The final design of the tri-band shared-aperture base station antenna achieves good radiation characteristics, low profile and high isolation characteristics.
