Abstract
The characteristics of dry sliding wear of GCr15 steel after normal hardening and after isothermal hardening treatment were studied. Changing the sliding conditions causes a transition of the wear mechanism. Compared to normal hardening treatment, isothermal hardening leads the transition of the wear effect to a higher load and higher speed. α→γ phase transformation has taken place in the wear process. An amorphous structure is found on some worn surfaces.
