Abstract

Most of the previous studies using the standard vehicle equivalent (SVE) method to describe the mixed traffic flow performances, but had failed to achieve good results. SVE was calculated by the method of average headway, and the traffic entropy characteristics and the nonlinear relations between the traffic volume and the average travel speed, the traffic entropy were studied on the urban freeway on-ramp junctions. The results may be useful for analysis of the traffic flow characteristics, the capacity calculation and the service level analysis on the urban freeway on-ramp junctions.
