Abstract
An aluminium alloy cylindrical housing, a key component of a helicopter, has such complex geometry that its forming and die design are difficult. In this paper, a three-dimensional rigid-plastic finite element simulation program has been developed to analyse the forming process of the cylindrical housing. The technological conditions of isothermal precision forging are established and forging quality is improved according to the above results.
