Abstract

In order to study the change law of hydrodynamic force and the influence to the control efficiency of the supercavitating vehicles when the inclination angle of cavitator changed, numerical simulations were carried out for disk and cone cavitators with different inclination angles. The simulation results indicated: The supercavity shape and the hydrodynamic characterics varied with the cone angle of cavitator; the cavitator should be chosen according to its own features of supercavitating vehicle; the combination of disk cavitator and cone cavitator could improve the shape and the hydrodynamic characteristics of a single cavitator and enhance the flexibility of cavitator selection.
