Abstract
Three-dimensional analysis of a simply supported functionally graded rectangular plate with arbitrary distribution of material properties is made using a simple and effective method based on Haar wavelet. Since good features in treating singularities, Haar series solution converges for arbitrary distribution of material properties, especially for the case that material properties change in some regions. Through numerical examples the influences of the material property differences between the top and bottom surfaces and the different material gradients on the structural response of the plate to mechanical stimuli are studied.
