Abstract

40Cu-W cup shell was successfully prepared by thixo-forging pseudo-semi-solid composites presented based on the powder metallurgy technology combining with semi-solid metal forming process. The bending strength and relative density reach 1151MPa and 98. 38%, respectively, with forging pressure of 500MPa at 1350°C. The compact and homogeneous microstructure can be observed in the 40Cu-W cup shell. W particle is surrounded by Cu phase tightly, which is responsible for the improvement of mechanical properties of the parts.
