Abstract
TiC-Ni cermets were prepared by combining forced compaction and self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). The relationship between thermal expansion coefficient of the resultant material and temperature as well as compositions have been investigated. The experimental results indicate that thermal expansion coefficient of TiC-Ni cermets increased monotonously with temperature increasing, and also increased with Ni content when the cermets were heated to the same temperature.
