Thermal design method of temperature control for regenerative cooling panel

Abstract

By analyzing characteristics and influential factors of heat transfer in regenerative cooling channel, a thermal design method of cooling panel based on restriction of operating temperature of materials was presented. In this design method, the structure of each channel was separately designed in the cooling panel, so that heat transfer characteristic of cooling channel could change with varying channel positions. By combining finite volume method, empirical relations of heat convection and Monte Carlo method, the cooling effect of regenerative cooling panel was investigated. The results show that the cooling panel can be geared for non-uniform heat flux distribution and operating temperature restriction of structure material. This design method can also ensure thermal reliability of structure.
