Theory research on the magnetic pressure with the axisymmetric coil in electromagnetic bulging

Abstract

Electromagnetic forming is a kind of advanced forming technology which is applied in the fields of aviation, space and so on, and the theory research is related to electromagnetics and plasticity dynamics. The design of the forming coil is one of the key technologies in electromagnetic forming, and the magnetic pressure analysis of the forming coil is partly based on the design of the forming coil. In this paper, the magnetic field of tube electromagnetic bulging with axisymmetric coil is investigated by numerical simulation method. Distribution of magnetic pressure of solenoid coil and echelon coil can be obtained during the forming. The radial magnetic pressure of axisymmetric coil can be calculated by algebraic analysis. The theory research indicates that the structural parameters of the coil and the workpiece and the relative position between them are important factors for the magnetic pressure distribution of the forming coil. The radial magnetic pressure of axisymmetric coil can be analyzed qualitatively by analysis.
