Abstract
The analytical solutions of the coupling equations were given with any arbitrary complex coefficient based on the stead state coupling equations of photorefractive two-wave mixing (TWM) of high speed amplitude modulated beams. The effect of the complex coupling coefficient on photorefractive TWM was discussed. Both the theoretical analysis and the numerical computation show that the effects of the real part and the imaginary part of the complex coupling coefficient on the direct component, the alternating component and the average amplifications are quite different.
