Abstract
Based on the AFREM model and the theory of elastic-continuation effect and plastic flow, formulae to calculate the long-term response of the high-performance concrete-filled steel tubular (HCFST) columns were brought forward. Cross-sectional analysis was conducted to predict the long-term response of HCFST short columns. Parametric analysis was carried out to discuss the influence of load level, the ratio of the area of steel tubes over the concrete core, and the duration of time for columns under loading et al on the static behaviour of HCFST columns. Analysis results show that time-effects have a considerable influence on the static behaviour of CFST specimens with expansive additive.
