Abstract
Metal matrix composites (MMCs) of (Gr+Nano-SiC p)/Cu can be prepared directly by powder metallurgy. The optimized time and the speed of ball milling are 8 hours and 300 r/min. After ball milling, the mixed powder can be formed by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) at about 1143 K and 200 MPa for 2 hours and then be extruded at 1143 K with the squeeze ratio 16:1. The Microstructure of the material sintered and extruded are observed by using SEM and TEM. The bending strengths of MMCs with different content of graphite and nano-SiC p are tested.
