Abstract

Based on the wideband characteristics of the triangle monopole antenna, a novel structure of the composite triangle monopole antenna is proposed as composing of three metal plates similar with each other. Simulated on the software CST MICROWAVE STUDIO® under the condition that the ground is infinite and perfect inductor, the simulation results show that the proposed composite triangle monopole antenna not only has a wide bandwidth, but also takes up less space than the common triangle monopole antenna. Furthermore, the impedance characteristics is simulated and the results indicate that the input impedance of the antenna is stable during the frequency range from 0.3 GHz to 10 GHz. (Input resistance=150 Ω, input reactance=50 Ω).
