Abstract

In this paper, the impact of the orders of fractional correlator on the energy distribution of the correlation plane is analyzed theoretically, and then the performance of fractional correlator for distortion-invariant pattern recognition is discussed deeply by numerical method based on the matched-filtering configuration. A comparison is made with the conventional correlation that shows the fractional correlation possess more powerful capability of distortion-invariant pattern recognition than that of the conventional correlation.
