The optimizing of continuous-wave laser performance of a novel Nd:GdYTaO4 mixed crystal

Abstract

In this paper, the continuous-wave (CW) performance of a novel Nd:GdYTaO4 laser was investigated through optimizing the transmission (T) of output coupler, the length of laser cavity and the pump beam waist radius (ωp). The maximum CW output power of 2.87 W with slope efficiency of 39% was achieved when the absorbed pump power was 8.2 W.
