Abstract
This study reports a new phenomenon of competitive growth between TiAl alloy structures. By annealing the β-solidified Ti-44Al-8Nb-0.1B alloy for a short time, a new phenomenon of repeated competitive growth between α2 and γ phases is found. Finally, the (α2 + γ) lamellar structure engulfs other structures and grows, transforming into a full lamellar structure.
