Abstract
Accurate evaluation of the time-domain Green function and its derivatives is important to the use of time-domain analysis in the seakeeping computations. A new efficient method of evaluating the time-domain Green function and its derivatives is proposed through the utilization of Dawson integral and Taylor expansion. The hydrodynamic forces on a submerged sphere undergoing large-amplitude motions and the submerged sphere with a constant forward speed are evaluated with the present method. The excellent level of agreement with known analytical solutions shows that the new method is accurate and practical.
