The Drop Transfer Characteristic of DCEN Hyperbaric Underwater Welding

To study the metal transfer of the dry hyperbaric DCEN GMAW, a high-speed video camera system was developed which got the different kinds of metal transfer with different parameters. The distribution law and the cause of the metal transfer are found. The study result proves that, different parameter levels cause the different results. Under low ambient pressure, globular transfer appears with the low velocity of the wire feeder. When the velocity increases, under the low voltage, it presents the short-circuit transfer. And when the ambient pressure increases, under the higher voltage, it presents the repelled transfer. The results can provide the bases for the dry hyperbaric DCEN GMAW.
