title = "The design of ultra-hard micro milling tool supplemented to LiF crystal by finite element analysis",
abstract = "Micro tools play an important role in micro/nano machining and their geometries should be designed according to the specific workpiece material to get the requested machining quality [1]. LiF is a kind of soft brittle crystal and has been widely used as nuclear fusion target on which micro structures should be milled. In this paper, two types of straight-edge end milling tools special for LiF milling are designed. Firstly, depending on the existing micro end mills, the critical disciplines for micro tools design are provided. Secondly, two types of ultra-hard milling tools of 1mm diameter are designed according to the disciplines mentioned. Then FEM model is established and simulations are conducted to get the proper tool geometry angles.",
