Abstract

Galatea device is a prototype which is used to investigate plasma magnetic confinement. The power of each subsystem must meet strict sequence requirements when Galatea device is running. So we need precise timing control for multiple power supply in Galatea device to guarantee its normal work. The center sequential control system (CSCS) designed in this article is an important part of Galatea plasma magnetic confinement device, which is used to implement the sequential control of all the power. After the analysis of sequential control requirements of Galatea device, a CSCS based on SOPC technology was presented. This system synchronizes each power system of Galatea by using reference clock and delay trigger. The CSCS system can provide reference clock in frequency up to 48MHz. The trigger can be pre-defined from 0.1us to 4096s with 20ns accuracy. The CSCS system will be applied to the Galatea plasma magnetic confinement device, the experimental results confirmed its accuracy.
