Abstract

TCF (Triangle-Shape Carbon Fiber) is a kind of new carbon fiber. Its special cross-section endows it with different characteristics from circle-shape carbon fiber reinforced plastics. A statistical method for composites strength, including detection of outliers, k-sample Anderson-Darling test, estimation of the shape and size parameters of a Weibull distribution, goodness-of-fit test is introduced. The B-basis value of the flexural strength of TCFRP (Triangle-Shape Carbon Fiber Renforced Platics) is investigated by mathematical statistic method and calculated by MATLAB. The mechanical properties of triangle-shape carbon fibers reinforced plastics are obtained. The B-basis value is 1417.2 MPa. The result will be helpful for the usage of TCFRP.
