N2 - Synchronizations are the key to bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging. In this paper, a mathematical model considering the time synchronization error is given and a phase error analysis is performed. Range and azimuth compressions of a single target are implemented with different time synchronization errors by simulations. The analysis, which is proved by simulations, offers the principle basis of correct time synchronization requirements for bistatic SAR system design.
