Abstract
The polarized Raman spectra of HoMn2O5 and TbMn2O5 are reported and discussed. Most of the Raman lines corresponding to Γ -point Raman modes (13 Ag +13 B1g +11 B2g +11 B3g) have been observed. The temperature dependence of the HoMn2O5 spectra provides no evidence for phonon anomalies associated with magnetic and ferroelectric transitions below 50 K.
