Techniques and principles of high-strength oil-in-emulsions by polyelectrolytes

Abstract

Based on the practice of wastewater treating engineering, techniques and principles in the breaking of COD of 32424 mg/L and turbidity of 3500 NTU emulsions are studied. By developing suited demulsified reagent compounding-form, efficient demulsification using coagulation is finished and turbidity removal could be treated above 90%. According to COD of high value after demulsification, the ratio of PAM, PAC and the right pH and churning up time for coagulation are confirmed. The study shows that the COD removal could be treated from 21400 mg/L to 8418 mg/L, BOD5/COD was increased to 0.45, which is benifit for later biologic treating.
