Teaching reform approaches based on MOOCs

Abstract

The information technologies have changed the style of people's producing, living, and learning. The strategic choice for China to accelerate the steps to be an educationally powerful country is to merge together with information technologies and education thoroughly and deeply in order to promote the education modernization, innovation and reform. The MOOCs arising in the USA show the possibilities of merging the information technology and education and attract the attentions of universities from all over the world. The current study briefly analyzes the reform practices in present years, and analyzes the characteristics and advantages of MOOCs. Measures to build MOOC platform and course structures, as well as the flipped classroom reform in Harbin Institute of Technology, are discussed, and some key issues such as course credits qualification for MOOCs are probed.
