Abstract

In ICF physical experiment, target-positioning accuracy directly affects the success rate of target hitting. A target positioning system consists of two sets of CCDs and a multi-dimension adjustment support. The CCDs acquire the image of target from different viewing angles. Their characteristic values are analyzed with edge extraction method in a computer. The spatial coordinate of target is calculated by integrating the characteristic values of two CCDs. Its deviation from the reference point is equal to the target adjustment quantity. The forward illumination is applied to the system. Its positioning accuracy measured in experiments is 4 μm.
