Abstract
Mn-Zn ferrite was synthesized with microwave-induced pyrolysis ash of sewage sludge as dopant, and the optimal doping ratios were 20%. Crystal structure and microstructure of the samples were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), respectively. Electromagnetic parameters (μ and ε) of the samples were investigated using Vector Network Analyzer. The results showed that the samples had spinel crystal structure and electromagnetic wave absorption achieved 19.47 dB more than the control. The frequency of maximum reflection loss of Mn-Zn ferrite with dopant moved towards higher frequency, reaching 11 GHz, and the bandwidth of reflection loss more than 10 dB increased from 1.7 GHz to 2.0 GHz. Heavy metals in the pyrolysis ash were solidified in the ferrite.
