Abstract

In order to improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 thin films, Ag-doped TiO2 films were synthesized by liquid phase deposition method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and UV-vis spectroscopy. Methyl orange was used as the reactant to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of catalyst samples. The experimental results indicate that the photocatalytic activity of Ag-doped TiO2 films which show anatase is higher than that of TiO2 films when the molar ratio of H3BO3/ (NH4)2TiF6 is 2-4, the silver nitrate concentration is 0.03 mol/L and the heating temperature is 400°C.
