Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of the novel asymmetric l-(4-(tetrathiafulvaleneyl)phenyl)ethanone (TTF-PEO) toward the precursor for multifunctional material are described. The tuning of the charge-transfer of TTF-PEO by solvent was-realized forming the mono- and dication complexes (TTF-PEO)2CuBr4 and (TTF-PEO)2(CuBr 4)2 • CH2Cl2 • CH 3CN in the triclinic Pl and the orthorhombic Pbca space group, respectively. The antiferromagnetic behavior for the monocation radical TTF-PEO+ salt with CuBr42- displayed obvious phase transition at 110-120 K.
