Abstract

This chapter introduces the preparation methods of 2D metals and the analysis techniques for their identification. First, the chemical synthesis, the physical processes, and the physicochemical methods for the preparation of 2D metals are introduced in detail. The working principles of preparations are interpreted by using examples from recent studies. The merits and drawbacks are compared among these preparation methods. Next, the analysis techniques for characterizations of 2D metals, including dimension measurement, elemental analysis, crystal structure identification, and other properties are introduced and the challenges for analyzing or detecting them are discussed. Finally, the preparations and characterizations of 2D metals are summarized and the suggestions on these aspects for future research and development are announced.
