Abstract
High dehydriding temperatures have been a major challenge hindering the application of AlH3, a potential hydrogen storage material. In this work, α-AlH3/LiCl nano-composite was synthesized by an efficient and environmentally friendly mechanochemical method. TiF3 was introduced to the LiH/AlCl3 reaction system to improve the hydrogen desorption property of the nano-composite. With the TiF3 addition, the dehydriding kinetics of the α-AlH3 composite were improved. The dehydriding mechanism of AlH3 and its interaction with TiF3 were also studied.
