Abstract

Firstly, superposition method of permanent deformation of asphalt pavement in AASHTO 2002 design guide was introduced briefly. Secondly, experiments simulations were performed using APA(asphalt pavement analyzer) with stress history, pavement temperature and number of loading cycles considered; Thirdly, the ratio(R) of permanent deformation measured by APA and superposed by AASHTO 2002 design guide was proposed to correct superposition method of permanent deformation in AASHTO 2002 design guide. Influencing factors of were determined and included pavement temperature of last subseason (T1), permanent deformation at the end of last subseason(D1), pavement temperature of current subseason (T2) and number of load cycles of current subseason (N2). Modified AASHTO equation was founded using exponent equation and coefficients were regressed using least square method.
